News » Minister tries the Jarwo Transplanter in Lampung

LAMPUNG – Minister for Agriculture Amran Sulaiman tried operating the Jarwo Transplanter planting tool at Gunung Meraksa Village, Pulau Panggung Sub-district, Tanggamus District, Lampung Province, Thursday (12/2/2015).

Jarwo Transplanter is engineered by the engineers of Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD). On the occasion, Amran tried out the Jarwo Transplanter type 2:1 which is currently disseminated throughout Lampung Province by the Lampung Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology (Lampung AIAT).  

This tool could increase the productivity average about 20,57% compared to the Tegel method. Jarwo Transplanter is designed to plant rice Jajar Legowo 2:1 method.

In Lampung, this agricultural tool has been widely produced by CV Lambang Jaya.

Amran tried using the planting tools on the occasion of his visit to give his support on the special efforts on increasing the rice production in Lampung Province, which is targeted in 2015 up to 1 million ton GKG.
