JAKARTA – The Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD) continues to socialize its research results worldwide. Among others was by participating in the South-South Cooperation Forum 2015: ‘Growing Together through South-South Cooperation’ (SSC Forum) held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wednesday (19/3/2015).

Thus it was a closed event, but still effective for IAARD especially in opening new cooperation with the South-south Countries. This event was also the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to stipulate the optimizing and coordination of the South-south Cooperation by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in order to be in line with the national priority’s agenda and to become an effective diplomacy tools.   

In the event, IAARD exhibited collaboration results on rice development in Sudan and also soybean development in Madagascar. IAARD also presented the training course of agriculture machinery and tools, the making of frozen cement, and others.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi and the Head of National Development Planning Agency Andrinof Chaniago put their interests in IAARD’s booth, especially in IAARD’s research results that have the potential to be collaborated such as the use of maize waste for bio-foam and Fitrice rice.
