Vice President Jusuf Kalla and South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin put interest in low glycemic index rice Fitrice by the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD).

Both were interested in the rice developed by Indonesian Center for Agricultural Post Harvest Research and Development (ICAPOSTRD) during their visit to the rice bio-industry hut at World Food Day 35th, Jakabaring Sport City Palembang, South Sumatra, Saturday (17/10/2015).

Alex said that the low GI rice would replace the imported ones. Moreover, JK said that this technology should reach the community for it has many benefits especially for health.

This rice has been licensed by PT Petrokimia Gresik and is produced from selected paddy with special process without adding chemical or preservative substances. Therefore, Fitrice remained natural with low glycemic index.

What is more important, Fitrice contains Vitamin B1, B2, and B6 which is higher compared to the regular rice.
