Jajar Legowo Super is an  implementation technology of rice cultivation that are integrated with five complementary components of IAARD’s innovation results.

Jajar legowo (jarwo) has long been known amongst farmers, which is a way of rice planting the rice with spacing 2:1 or 4:1. As in jarwo super, it is adjusted with the utilization of improved rice varieties that have high yield such as Inpari 30, Inpari 32, as well as Inpari 33.

Other component is the use of bio-decomposer which contains decomposer microbe such as lignocellulose. Bio-decomposer can accelerate the decomposition process, in situ, from two months to one or two weeks.

The result of the application of bio-decomposer accelerates the straw composing and change the organic residue into organic soil material, increases NPK, therefor can reduce the fertilizing cost also suppress the soil born disease.

The use of bio-fertilizers and balanced fertilization based on soil test device (PUTS) also one of the components of jarwo super. Bio-fertilizer is a mixture of non-pathogenic microbes that generates fitohormon (plant growth booster), that bond nitrogen and phosphate solvent which improves fertility and soil health.

Furthermore, there is a component of pest control with botanical and inorganic pesticides, also the use of agricultural machinery in particular transplanter and combine harvester.

This technology innovation is developed in order to anticipate the decrease of agricultural land, while demand continues to rise. If jarwo super is extended in 20% of the total irrigated land therefor it can contribute to the increasing of production of 3.84 million tons of dried paddy per year.
