Although this fruit is not originally from Indonesia, but the existence of Mangoes that are widespread throughout the archipelago makes it popular as one of our tropical fruit pride.

Originally, Mangoes came from India. It has been cultivated for more than 6.000 years. Based on stories told in India, mango tree has an important religious significance. Hindus consider this tree as the modification of Dewa Prajapati (God of all creatures). The word 'Mango' is derived from the Tamil word 'mangkay' or mangas.

Other than its deliciousness, mango has become so popular because it contains antioxidants which can neutralize free radicals. In addition, Mangoes contain high iron which is good for people with anemia. Mangoes can also help relieve digestive problems because they contain enzymes that help digest the protein.

The process of hybridization of Arumanis-143 with Haden mango has resulted in a new improved variety of Mango namely Denarum Agrihorti. The sweet and sour-tasted Mango is high in production (at the age of  9 it produced 53 kg/phn/year, and at the age of 10 it produced 120/kg/ph/year).
